Microsoft bids US$44.6 billion for Yahoo!

Yahoo! recently announced that due to poor forecast they were planning to lay off 1000 workers worldwide, Microsoft probably taking this as an opportunity for a hostile takeover bid for Yahoo! at US$31 per share or US$44.6 billion dollars. As Yahoo and MSN has been struggling to get a foothold of Google’s massive growth especially in the advertising space, it Google has done all the right things to hold a huge percentage over the advertising space on the internet comparing to Yahoo’s and MSN. Will the combination of Yahoo! and MSN give Microsoft a edge over Google’s continual upward perk. If this marriage works, there will be some major laying off staff that has competiting departments for example, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail.
